Dr. Sanket Dhat brings a wealth of expertise and compassion to his practice as a dual board-certified psychiatrist specializing in Addiction Medicine and Adult Psychiatry in Lynchburg.
Dr. Dhat completed his psychiatry residency at the esteemed Southern Illinois University, School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in addiction medicine accredited by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. His dedication to combating addiction led him to take a leading role in the development of an Addiction Treatment Center, focusing on the opioid use disorder population in Central Virginia.
As a leader in the field, Dr. Dhat maintains professional affiliations with prestigious organizations such as the American Psychiatric Association, American Society of Addiction Medicine, and Virginia Psychiatric Association. He currently serves as director at the Lynchburg Academy of Medicine, demonstrating his commitment to advancing healthcare in his community. With a focus on comprehensive care, Dr. Dhat offers expertise in treating a wide range of mental health disorders, including depression, substance abuse, anxiety disorders (such as OCD, GAD, and PTSD), bipolar disorder, ADHD, and women's mental health issues. He is also experienced in utilizing Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) as an innovative treatment option for depression. Dr. Dhat takes a holistic approach to treatment, emphasizing the importance of therapy and lifestyle changes in addition to medication when indicated. Dr. Kimberly H. Buzzelli is a practicing psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Lynchburg, VA. Dr. Buzzelli received her nursing degree from Lynchburg Collage (currently University of Lynchburg), and her master’s degree from The University of Virginia. In 2014 She completed her education by receiving her Doctor of Nursing degree from Radford University with a focus on geriatric psychiatric care. Prior to completing her master’s degree, she had a diverse nursing career involving the Neurologic ICU, Cardiothoracic Surgery and Case Management.
Dr Buzzelli has been practicing since 2011. The last 2 years she has been working in Lynchburg VA with Community Access Network, treating adults who suffer from psychiatric illness in this diverse integrative care setting. She has also worked with Horizon behavioral health for 7 years and continues to collaborate with staff and treat clients in their outpatient clinics. Always having an interest in Geriatric psychiatry, she spent the first 10 years of her practice developing and working with Centra Health’s Geriatric Psych Program. During her time at Centra Health she
received the mental health provider of the year award. She is also a clinical
Instructor of nursing for George Mason University, Virginia Commonwealth
University, The University of Virginia, and Liberty University.
Throughout her career she has had the opportunity of caring for a wide range of patients in many settings including inpatient, outpatient and an integrative care model. Dr Buzzelli feels comfortable treating ages over the age of 20. She has extensive training in comprehensive psychiatric assessments, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based treatment of mental disorders using medications if indicated but also strives to work with patients and families to identify other interventions that maybe helpful in managing psychiatric problems.
When she is not working with patients Dr Buzzelli enjoys spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, playing tennis, challenging herself with physical fitness activities and caring for her two wonderful dogs, and her beloved cat.
Dr. Wesley is a licensed clinical psychologist. Dr. Wesley graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She then earned her masters and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Wesley completed her postdoctoral fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. Following fellowship, Dr. Wesley served as a psychologist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia prior to returning home to Lynchburg in 2019.
Dr. Wesley works with patients across the lifespan experiencing a variety of difficulties. She is especially passionate about working with individuals experiencing anxiety and chronic medical conditions. Dr. Wesley is also experienced in psychological assessment, including psychoeducational assessments and ADHD evaluations.
Dr. Wesley is a member of numerous professional associations, including the American Psychological Association and the Society for Pediatric Psychology. Dr. Wesley is a board member of the Celiac Disease Behavioral Science Consortium and serves as an adjunct professor in the Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology at Liberty University.
In her free time, Dr. Wesley enjoys baking, crafts, playing/watching sports, and spending time with family.
Brent McCraw is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 35 years of experience in the behavioral health field. His clinical interests include attachment psychology, embodied emotions, polyvagal theory, cognitive behavior treatment, addiction and recovery and emotion
regulation. Brent works with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, substance use disorders and trauma. He sees adults over 18.
Brent completed a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from James Madison University and a Master’s in Education in Agency Counseling from the University of Lynchburg. His career spans clinical and managerial roles. He has worked in public mental health, employee assistance
programs and hospital administration. His administrative roles include marketing, leadership and management in addiction treatment and inpatient psychiatric programs. His clinical roles include case management for clients with serious mental illness, assessment, short term counseling, referral, management consultation, training, presentations, critical incident
debriefing, addiction and mental health group counseling and individual counseling. He is a member of the American Counseling Association and Virginia Counselors Association.
Brent enjoys time with family, traveling, two barn cats, two donkeys and his John Deere Tractor. He welcomes the opportunity to work with you.
Destiny is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University. She received her B.S in Sport Science & Fitness Management and hopes to pursue her passion of becoming an Athletic Trainer in the future.
During her free time, she likes to shop, travel, and read.

Elizabeth is a third-year Clinical Psychology doctoral student at Liberty University. She received her B.S. in Developmental Psychology and has since gained over two years of experience as a graduate assistant at Liberty University while also pursuing her Psy.D.
Elizabeth is passionate about supporting the mental health and developmental needs of children and adolescents, with a special interest in working with those impacted by foster care and adoption in her future clinical work. She also has experience conducting psychological assessments and evaluations, including those related to ADHD, ODD, Parenting Capacity, Depression, Anxiety, and other concerns across the lifespan.
Outside of the clinical setting, Elizabeth enjoys reading, traveling, volunteering with CASA, and spending quality time with her husband.
Summerlin Adkins is a fourth-year PsyD student currently in her third year of practicum training. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Clemson University in 2021 and has since gained over three years of experience as a graduate assistant at Liberty University while pursuing her doctoral studies.
Summerlin has accumulated over 250 hours of clinical intervention experience, working with individuals facing anxiety disorders, dissociative disorders, depressive disorders, adjustment disorders, and borderline personality disorder. Her clinical interests include borderline personality disorder, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic approaches.
Outside of the clinical setting, Summerlin enjoys reading, running, scrapbooking, and Star Wars. She is passionate about her faith and finds joy in time with her two beloved cats, Abeline and Polly.
